Loving the backdrop.
Yes not so PC I know but when am I
That is about 2 -3 hours work the metal is just blown over with Hurricane Grey spray from Halfords then rubbed my finger over the high spots and wear points with aluminium paint. Then gave the stock a rub down and stain then 2 coats of French polish.
I should have test fired it first though

Doe's anybody know what the mag availabilty is like , is it all 600rds Hi Cap or are there other options going ? One of these and six 100rd mags would be a good load .
AFAIK it's a 300 capacity mag as standard - no other availability of other mags yet (or indeed spare standard mags!).

If I hear about differnet mags I'll post sraight up as I'm sure anyone else will. Will also see about availablility and cost of extra mags.
My brother just had his MP44 Chrono'd at UCAP, it averaged 435fps!
“I wanted to come to the Volga at a specific location at a specific city. By chance it carries the name of Stalin himself. So don’t think I marched there for this reason – it could carry another name – but because there is a very important goal... this goal I wanted to take – and you know – we are very modest, we have it already."

"Comrades, Red Army men, commanders and political workers, men and women guerrillas! It is on your perseverance, staunchness, fighting skill and readiness to discharge your duty to the country that the defeat of the German-fascist army and the liberation of the Soviet land from the Hitlerite invaders depend! We can and must clear the Soviet land of Hitlerite vermin."
Joseph Stalin, November 1942

Just unpacked mine earlier, it was chrono'ing at 447fps, I figure if I keep it on semi I will be ok?
on a serious point I am just taking it apart now, I have a systema m100 spring so hopefuly I should get it around 330 fps, will report back on what I find inside the gearbox,
Steve.D

Took delivery of SIX today from Airsoft World.
Charged one up - had a plink this evening without a chrono and hard to tell but it's doing about the same range and fire rate as my CA MP5.....
Had a tutorial from Frenchy about how to take it apart and fit either a Systema 1J or a M95 spring.........
Build is nice, firm feel to it, wobble on stock is about same as real steel. Weight is about same as a Shoei - Finish is matt black as opposed to deep blue on realsteel but could be improved upon by someone with skill and patience.....
I like it - and I've had real steel, fired real steel and owned a Shoei too. It's nice, functional and will add loads to late war scenarios (most popular by far) I might even find time to get to something this year. The AFRA boys now own MP44s and have some nice WWII kit - Can we come play please mister?

Yes I think the stock wobble isn't so bad an easy quick fix is just put some black insulation tape around the back of the receiver to take up the slack ![]()

took the STG44 apart, on my one I was lucky enough to get receiver pins made of steel not alloy like on oddballs, they are still lose though, a slightly thicker O ring should do the trick I think,
I managed to get the gearbox out & apart, it takes a little brute force to get it out of the upper receiver after the screws have been removed, the same with the hop unit & barrel, brute force & a prayer, unsure how to get the cocking handle out, I suspect the spring was fitted that holds it in as the body was riveted together, no real need to remove it though as I got the hop unit & barrel out, the hop rubber was very poor quality, the inner barrel looked to be fairly similar to other Chinese items, I replaced this with a systema 6.04mm inner barrel, I used a 450mm AK one & cut it down by 10mm, the replacement hop rubber was a tight fit going in & I has to trim about 6mm of the end,
Before re fitting the barrel & hop unit I removed a little metal off the bolt handle guide that fouls the hop adjuster, a craft tool was used similar to a Dremil, I only had to remove about 0.5mm,
The gearbox, not bad for a AGM but as usual a lot of thin grease in all the wrong places, one unusual thing on this version 2 gearbox is it has 8mm bronze bushings & a chrome plated cylinder, the spring guide was metal alloy & fairly poor quality, the piston head has bearings but again it looks cheap, I de greased the gearbox & re assembled & re shimmed it, I fitted a systema piston head, systema reinforced spring guide with bearings & a new air seal nozzle, a M4A1 nozzle is the same size, the original nozzle was fairly poorly moulded, the spring I put in was a systema M100,
I reassemble it all, & ran a few hundred rounds through it, it sounds nice, its now firing at 340fps with the hop off, with the better barrel & hop rubber it should have a reasonable range & good accuracy,

Mine are steel I have edited the video just said it wrong at the time.

AH,
Steve.D

Yeah
Steve.D

Got mine now.
Has a nice weight to it and the finish on the metal is better than I expected. Won't stop me having a go at it though.
Just charging my battery now so I can test it out before I start ripping it to bits. ![]()
EDIT: Ok I've given it a test and it appears I currently have no safety- my fire selector goes; semi-semi-auto.
Its also bloody noisy but I guess thats to be expected for a 400fps + gun.
Got mine also - awesome bit of kit! Very heavy and solid
Nothing more to add that others haven't said. Oh, it's chrono'ing 520 - 550fps (0.2g) out of the box

OMG... that's ridiculous!
Feck knows what the viva stens will turn up as if they're quoted at 400! lol
Body/stock pin sorted.
Drill small hole through it, then use an R split pin to secure.
cheap as chips too.
Unsure what an R split pin is ?...its the type of pin shaped like a capitol R,
the one i have used was the pin used to secure the body of a radio control car to its chassis.

Hello Chaps ![]()
I've been reading this thread with interest, especially the comments on our honesty and commitment towards customers. Here's the facts on what happened:
I go to China approx 4 times a year to assess and control our imports to the best of my ability. It's a fairly expensive, frustrating and time consuming activity but if I don't do it, the products we receive are even more unpredictable.
We commissioned the MP44, Sten and PPsh-41 with AGM back in May 2008. By commisssioned, I mean we help/pay for the sourced Japanese gun they use to copy from, advise them on what mods to make and what materials to use in its manufacture.
1) a)We asked for a gun-blued stamped steel receiver, wood stock, aluminium outer barrel to keep the cost and weight down.
b) We got an aluminium alloy receiver, wood stock, steel handguard, front sight cover and copper gas tube.
Reasons: They decided not to invest in the 20t steel press that they agreed to in May. They bought a small hydraulic press and mould to 'crimp' the copper gas tube. Copper was used as it's a helluva lot softer than steel and does not require heating to high temperature to do so. They used alloy because it's what they know and could not for the life of them understand why we wanted 'rusty steel which will be ugly'. They could have told us this in May or October when I went back over as it was due to be launched in November 2008.
We were also supposed to get the first production run, built with an M90 spring and RoHs standard compliancy. What we got was shafted. Our initial order was for 200 units as we wanted to make sure they worked ok and if there were any problems, we would pass on our feedback for rectification on the next shipment. The next thing we know, HK Etailers are advertising them with a shipping date of Feb 7th. We weren't even notified of their general release. So, we contacted AGM to find out what the hell was going on. Loads of lies and B/S ensued but to get to the point, a HK distributor put in an order for 1000 units and ours were immediately sold to them with the additional 800.
So, we had to take standard production run models in the end which are considerably different than what we asked for. In order to appease our pre-order customers, we also had to 'express' air freight them in very small individual quantities as they came off the conveyor belt which cost us a lot more than we had budgeted for into the selling price. Then factor in the US Dollar and so on......
We're not the heartless lying bandits that you seem to think we are Baggypants, we honestly do our best under the circumstances that get chucked on our desks on a daily basis. If you would like to come and spend a day in our office and warehouses, you will be very welcome, as will any of you ![]()
On a happier note, I have spent two days in the AGM factory this week to force them into supplying the non-painted version we have been asking them for since we discovered they had made the decision to paint them black. Here's the result:
